Strokes gained: How it works

Distance   Probability

3ft. putts – 96%

5ft. putts – 76%

7ft. putts – 56%

10 ft. putts – 38%

Perfecting the Putting Stoke

Many pros have a two stroke strategy when laying 50 yds from the pin. Chip and putt to within a 3ft of the hole then finish the hole with a => 97% completion record.

Basic Work sheet  Stroke Consistency

On Golf Course Putting Green

Measure 3ft from the putting hole and place 10 tees with 5 balls each around a 360 degrees circle.

Putt each group keeping count of the made balls. Post made balls/putted balls to the OPZ work sheet to get a completion percentage. Extra Credit, Putt until you miss and then start over until you can make 50 balls in a row.

 Advanced indoor Putting Green

Use the work sheet to correct and improve each element and the progress of completion percentage.

An advanced putting green provides the same procedure faster and easier on your time, your way. Faster with continuous putting and easier with accurate feed back. Players will reduce their score and have more confidences by playing the two stroke strategy.

Aiming the Putter for Putt-line Accuracy

Securing a good stroke almost guarantees making a putt in a 3ft circle. Most balls hit form 50 yds will land out side the 3ft circle and the 97% completion drops rapidly, 4ft <= 85%, 5ft <= 75%, 7ft <= 56% and 10ft <= 38%. Improving scores means making longer putts.

Intermediate Work Sheet Putt-line Accuracuy

On Golf Course Putting Green

Start on the golf course putting green by placing a tee in 10 locations 6ft around the hole.
Set a ball by each tee and putt each putt counting the number of made balls. Post the made balls to the OPZ work sheet to get a completion percentage.
Use the work sheet to evaluate the different elements by trial and error finding the core fundamentals to achieve the best results.

Training the Brain For Reading Putting Greens

Eight foot putts and longer gets exponentially harder because of the inconsistencies of putting greens.  Making longer putts by navigating the AIM line with the correct speed is important for winning tournaments and having lower scores.

Advanced Work Sheet Perfecting Aim & Speed

On Golf Course Putting Green

Train you eyes to read the green by setting a AIM line to the upside of the hole. Strike the ball with enough speed to travel to the hole. Slower balls will fall short and faster balls will extend past the hole.

Advanced Indoor putting green

The Pro Trainer offers a big advantage by selecting the AIM line with Zero to 4% angles plus multiple putting holes.

Setting up the same putting drills with a left break and right break. Putt 25 to 50 putts on each configuration and post results of the variance. Learn the speed of the ball watching as the ball slows down and the angle becomes more severe.

Create comparable drills on a golf course putting green. The difference shows the amount of training needed to read the putting green.
